move request - Crystal Green by Earille Posted by telperion1 July 08, 2010 - 17:12:22 Topic ID# 10635
Hey guys,

I'm following up on Earille's request regarding "Crystal Green":

"Like the first, it could prove misleading to readers, as it is a
crossover. Could you please put it with other crossovers? But if it
cannot be done, then I can say I am satisfied with the placement. (I
noticed the same thing with Not Quite a Maia by Kara's Aunty... but I
have no right to speak for her, nor have I gotten a permission from her
to do so. :)"

In this case I think we'll leave it where it is. This story is a WIP,
right? We try very hard to have all the WIPs compete against other WIPs,
and the only time we make an exception to that is when there aren't
enough WIPs in *any* of their category choices for them to compete
together. This year there are only three crossovers, and one of them was
a crossover between Tolkien and "real life" history. So we didn't have
enough WIP crossovers to set up a "Genres: Crossover: Incomplete"
subcategory. That's why we moved "Crystal Green" and the other stories
into their second- or third-choice category.

For the record, the affected stories are:

--- 361. Not Quite a Maia by Kara's Aunty (in Genres: HUmor: Incomplete)
--- 235. Dark Power Rising by Shemyaza1 (in Races: Cross-Cultural:
Incomplete)
--- 468. Crystal Green by Earille (in Races: Cross-Cultural: Incomplete)

I think the summaries of these stories all make it reasonably clear that
these are crossovers, but if any of the authors want me to change their
summaries, I can do that easily. Just let me know.
