Subject: Mithril Awards: Voting now open

Voting is now open for the 2004 awards. The key points, plus the answers to
some questions we've been asked are...

Voters this year get the choice of all semi-finalists works (whose authors
wished to be included), so there are well over 200 stories, poems & critical
essays, ranging from novels to drabbles, included in the 'ballot paper'.

In response to feedback last year, we've upped the number of voting
categories, and there are now seven to choose from (the new ones were
selected by a public
poll):

Best Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit
Best Silmarillion
Best Character Piece
Best Drama/Action Adventure
Best Humour*
Best Romance/Erotica -- Het
Best Romance/Erotica -- Slash

[*Yes, Humour is in there -- it unfortunately got missed off some of the
early mailshots.]

Voters may fill in only one 'ballot paper', but they may vote in as many or
as few categories as they wish.
People need not have nominated to vote. Each work is listed in a single
voting category, as selected by the author. There are lists of
semi-finalists, by voting categories and by judged categories, on the awards
site.

To vote, fans need to use the online form at the awards site
(http://www.viragene.com/tolkien). Voting will close on Sunday 27 June.

That's all I can think of, but don't hesitate to ask if there's anything
unclear. And don't forget to cast your own votes!

Cheers
Tavia
