I've been thinking about this for some time, and I thought I should
finally make mention of it. Ainaechoiriel, you are more than welcome
to tell me to go and sit in the corner if you wish, after this
message :P Especially considering the trouble we had with the Elves
award titles.
Looking at the titles you've chosen for the hobbits category, they
basically point to Frodo as the Ring-bearer of Bag-End, Merry as the
Master of Buckland and Pippin as the Thain of the Great Smials. Merry
and Pippin's awards I have no problem with. It's Frodo's I've been
thinking about.
We already have a Frodo Baggins award, correct? In the drama
category, I believe. Ainae, I seem to remember you mentioning that
you didn't really want to have two awards with the same name.
While "The Frodo Baggins Award" and "The Ring-bearer of Bag End
Award" are two different names, essentially, they mean the same thing.
My suggestion is for a "Mayor of Hobbiton" or "Gardener of Bag End"
award, both of which would point towards Sam, the only hobbit who
does not have his own award. Thoughts? Complaints? Anyone just think
I'm too obsessive about hobbits?
As far as I know, there's only been one submission for the Ring-
bearer award, which was made by me anyway, and I can easily make a
Sam award instead. If there had been any more awards submitted, I
certainly would not have annoyed everyone like this!
I'll get off my soapbox now :P

Re: Hobbits Category Awards Posted by Ainaechoiriel June 14, 2004 - 11:01:33 Topic ID# 1381Well, since there is only one Ring-bearer banner, and since you are the
artist of said banner, and since I had actually had an inkling of a thought
on this...I shall open a poll untili Friday.
