The rest of the categorizers and I are trying to find home for orphan WIPs,
Drabbles, and Poems. In other words, WIPs, Drabbles, and Poems that are
presently in non-viable categories. In some cases we were able to move one
or two to make another category viable. We were going to move one story
from a viable category (Drama/Incomplete) to a new one to make it viable
(LOTR/Incomplete), but then we found out one of our LOTR/Incomplete's was no
longer incomplete. Thus the new category wasn't viable anymore.

So there we are. We still have some orphans, but less than we had yesterday.

We have 9 orphans still. 4 of those are crossing their fingers that
Despised and Hated will get approved by the author and thus make that
category viable.

Now, I'm going to let you in on a little dilema of mine, just in case one of
you happens to really like math, or has a lot of time on his or her hands..

This has to do with not orphaned stories, but not-yet-approved stories:

The Nominations database has 555 stories in it.
When I subtract the 2 that were declined by their authors, I get 553.
When I check how many stories I have on the web site, I get 543.
IF All the stories are in the Nominations database (and I haven't found any
that aren't)
AND only approved ones make it into the web site list
AND there is no story on the website that isn't in the Nominations database
THEN there should only be 10 awaiting approval in the Author Approval
database.
But there are 16.
Help me out here? What happened?
Either someone who really likes math will set me straight, or someone with a
heck of a lot of time on their hands, will check the web site against the
database or vice versa. Otherwise..this is why we have Check Ballots.
Hopefully the error will come out somewhere!

I dont know if this helps or makes it worse, but I found a couple of
duplicates on the website (not the database).

Blood and Smoke (Silm category) and Night in Hollin (Men) are both
listed twice.

Also, The link for Ring of Water (Romance) is not working...there's
a bunch of stuff at the beginning so it tries to go to angelfire
instead of Hasa.

In adventure, there is a story by Shakes listed by two different
names, Messages and Messengers (the correct one is Messages), so
there's another double...\

Hope that helps clear up some of the math stuff...

I did a Find on the page and only came up with one Blook and Smoke, but I
did find two Night in Hollin's. Ah, just found the second Blood and Smoke.
Didn't find it before because there was a typo.

Okay, bad cut and paste accident. It will be fixed on my next upload, as
will those duplicates.
