I know it's too late for this year, but is it really necessary to change those?
I realize they don't show up correctly in email, but won't the nominations
ultimately be in an html web page where they show up correctly?
I know I go to the website to access the nominated stories, or maybe I'm
misunderstanding how the ballots work, will they be sent in email? (and we
reply in email?)
Just got to thinking about that and wondered...
Sorry if I'm too far off base and just wasting time...

Sadly yes, unless I wanted to double my work. Some of the diacriticals may
come off on the website. Others may not. And we still need a text version
and they do get quite funked out in plain text. I'd have to keep two source
files of the same information except one has diacriticals and the other does
not. Each edit would have be done in both source files, etc.

Yes and no.

We will go ot the web site to read the stories, true. But the ballots will
be posted to the group and in the group is where you will vote, by replying
to the ballot, much like the edits to the Check Ballots have been.

No need. It is a fair question to be asked.
