ballots? Posted by sulriel July 26, 2004 - 8:28:00 Topic ID# 1965
first admitting that I tend to be terrribly disorganized... the
word.doc that I'm saving my votes on is something of a jumbled mess.
Are the ballots available or only the check-ballots? are we / can
we / use the check ballots...? to paste into word and paste the vote
into the correct place so it doesn't have to be found and sorted and
repasted again ....??? I rather be reading and commenting than
tearing my hair out and sorting.

would it be a good idea to post the ballots, like the nom form, on
the website?

I don't think it's a good idea to postt he ballots yet, as people
(especially new people) might not realize that is' not yet time to vote.

Here's what I'm doing, I'm putting my votes in an Excel spreadsheet. Easy
to find, easy to sort. Otherwise (before I went to Excel), I did just let
them go in any order in a tex document. Would you all like for me to put up
a blank copy of my spreadsheet (codes, titles, authors, but no comments) in
the Files section. You could just grab it from there and use it for your
own purposes.

Done. It's in the Files section, in the same place as the Nomination form.
Just save it to your hard drive and away you go.

I think I'm converting everyone to the love of spreadsheets, huh?

Having difficulties. Any program besides Excel with which I could
open that?

Because spreadsheet sounds great. I think my father is using Excell
in similar ways, and raving about it.

On a different topic: is there a way I can get update mails as text
only, without the html?

Possible. Some other spreadsheet programs will convert Excel spreadsheets,
but that all depends on whichever software you have.

When you went to get the file, did you right-click and choose Save Target
As? Otherwise, you *migh* be able to view the file in your browser and then
you can copy the columns to whatever spreadsheet software you have.

The best you can do is tell Yahoo not to convert mails to HTML. Log in to
the Yahoosite and go to the MEFAwards home page. Click the Edit my
Membership link at the upper right. At the bottom of that page is Message
Format section where you can make that choice.
