OT: Is Yahoo being wonky for others? Posted by dwimmer\_laik September 24, 2004 - 22:35:42 Topic ID# 2127
Or am I just special? Finally got back over here to see what's been
going on, and what do I find? "404 Object not found on server! Report
to <link>referring page</link>. If you think this is in error, contact
the <link to useless generic domain address>web master</useless link>."

This has been a problem since last week for me, can crop up at any
moment, and does not seems to affect anything but yahoo. I'd hoped it
would go away if I did. Anyone else suffering?

Dwim, annoyed

P.S. Before anyone asks if I've e-mailed yahoo tech support...

1) They have no central tech support group, because there are too many
of us and they don't want to be swamped. So I interpret their excuse,
hidden on a page that is difficult to find.

2) The text box they give for reporting problems causes my browser to
crash *every single time* I use it. Yes, computers hate me.

It's not just you. I was looking at posts in a different yahoo group,
changed over to this group, and then found that "404 Object not found on
server" thing. I couldn't seem to get back in at the time, but it seems to
be working now. It wasn't this afternoon...

Thank you. I find that if I just keep following links, I inevitably
can get back to a yahoo group page with content, but there's no
guarantee it'll last--the next click could lead me right back to that
error page. And using the text box still causes my browser to crash.

Curses upon yahoo. It is most definitely evil.

That's really odd. Because I never seem to have a problem with it. Are you
both using MAC's by any chance?

*shakes head* Nope. I'm not, anyway. I've only run into trouble once, but
I've heard other people on other groups complaining, too. *shrugs* Perhaps
we're cursed?
