Couple questions Posted by bljean@aol.com September 28, 2004 - 11:12:33 Topic ID# 2203
I have finished my first "vote" and am ready to send, but it's huge! Should I
break it into chunks and send part 1 and part 2?

I'm glad for the amnesty day. I really meant to vote on a few of the Men
stories (no time to read them all; not even time enough to read all the Hobbit
stories, my particular interest in LOTR) but didn't get my comments finished in
time.

The amnesty day is at the end of all the voting periods, is that right? How
does it work? We just send in all our leftovers?

Would it be a headache to send a partial ballot and then the rest of the
votes on amnesty day, or do you want full ballots.

Beg pardon if these questions have already been posed and answered. I've been
much distracted the past few weeks.

Thanks,
Lindelea

Personally, as a vote counter, I'd rather have as many votes now as possible.
As long as you have it done, I'd say send in what you have, then the rest on
Amnesty day.

Either way. Some people break there's up into Stories and Authors or send
their votes in two posts. I've done Elves an Men in two posts because when
they opened I posed all the comments I had and then I kept reading and
making more comments and so posted those before the categories ended.

Same with me (though Elves are my main interest). There are still 2 or 3
longer Elves stories I'd like to get to and 3-5 long and short stories I'd
like to get to in Men.

>The amnesty day is at the end of all the voting periods, is that right? How

Yes, though I would prefer to keep separate main categories (Elves, Men,
Humor, etc.) in separate posts. It will help us to count them.

>Would it be a headache to send a partial ballot and then the rest of the

No, send what you have when you can. If you've read all the Orcs stories
that you're going to and have all your comments, by all means, post a full
ballot. But if you only get 5 Hobbits stories done before the categories
close, go ahead and send the five and save the rest for Amnesty Day. The
more we get during the categories' open times, the better. We're going to
be fairly flooded on Amnesty Day anyway, I think.

Not a problem at all!

And let us not forget Thundera's rather lengthy posts in both the Men and
the Elves categories. ;) I posted a few epics, and I know others have done
the same.

Speaking as a vote counter, I actually prefer the massive posts. Having it
all there at once means I can count it all at once and I'm not worried about
missing posts or things like that. *shrugs* But that's just me.
