Gap-filler
DG1: A Silence Covered in Stone by Zimraphel

Zimraphel weaves a gruesome and horrid tale, from the burned corpses in
Mirkwood, to the terrible fate of Eanur. Her Thranduil and Celeborn
are written extremely well, and I found their conversation believable
and very much in character. One word describes this... Chilling.

LOTR
DL4: Doom of Man by Alexcat

Nicely written story of the grief Elrond endured and the folly of
Isildur. Alex can take any subject and make it interesting.

LOTR
DL5: Final Flight by Trinity Helix

Heart-rending story of Halidrs death at Helms Deep and the hope that
Estel brings to Middle-earth and Men.

Post-WOTR
DPoW2: Adamo Invenio Discovery of Love by Lasse-Lanta
The conclusion of the mystery tale and an end to lonliness for two
elven souls in a mortal world a very lovely and sweet series.

Post-WOTR
DPoW4: Chance Meetings by Lasse-Lanta

I loved the descriptions of the two mystery characters, an elf and a
mortal with enough elven blood to feel an unusual attraction to the
other. Lovely tale set in modern days, mystical and intriguing.

Post-WOTR
DPoW6: Dance With Desire by Lasse-Lanta

More of the mystery tale, complete with a promise.

Post-WOTR
DPoW7: Fate, Fatum Or Perhaps Fari by Lasse-Lanta

The elf, hurt and crumpled on the pavement, and the female, strangely
protective of him, knowing he is different but with no understanding
how or why. I love reading more of this highly intriguing series.

Post-WOTR
DPoW13: Sorrow Profound by Alexcat

Elrond faces such loss in LOTR and Alex writes him oh so well.
Celebrian, Arwen, Elladan and Elrohir, Gil-galad, Elessar, all he loved
gone from his life, and he left with just their memory. Alex makes
us feel his despair and sorrow in this sad and poignant tale.

Post-WOTR
DPoW14: Stolen Moment by Lasse-Lanta

Another chance meeting, a smile, the brush of a fingertip in long hair
what a wonderful mystery Lasse-Lanta weaves in this intriguing
series!

Post-WOTR
DPoW16: Sunset by Khylea

Sad and poignant tale of Legolas and Aragorns visit to Haldirs grave.
Helms Deep stories are always tearful and this one is no exception.
Khylea gives honour to Haldir, a warrior who put others freedom before
his own life, as his friends honour one of his his last requests.

Post-WOTR
DPoW19: The Mantle Of Power by Marnie

I do so love Glorfindel and Marnie portrays him so well. Elrond has
sailed, and Glorfindel, faced once again with grasping reigns of power,
battles his desire and cedes the battle of wills to Celeborn, allowing
him rule over Imladris. Irony comes in play when he learns Celeborn
had assure his position beforehand, obtaining permission from the
absent Lords Elladan and Elrohir. A lovely story, made all the more so
by Marnies eye for detail.

Post-WOTR
DPoW20: Trees of Remembrance by jenolas

A very tender story of the friendship formed between those of the
fellowship. How lovely it was represented by a glade of trees planted
by Legolas as a remembrance of such bond. And how fitting that
Eldarion finds the same solace and peace long after his friends and
parents have left Middle-earth. He learns that withdrawal is not
always the answer to sorrow. Lovely story.

Pre-WOTR
DPrW1: A Family Trait by Marnie

As a metal-smith, I truly liked this story of the twins lesson in
jewellery making. But what surprises were in store! First, the smith
is a lady, none other than Celebrian. Second, she and Celeborn worry
over the interest the twins take in the craft which was the bane of
their forefathers, Feanor and Celebrimbor. Luckily, the young ones
prefer the art of swordmaking, and all ends happily.

Pre-WOTR
DPrW2: All These Wore Wings by fileg

This was a truly delightful story of Boromir and Faramir. I loved the
imagery of the boats and the tales of valour, drawn from a young boys
perspective, also, the visions of the future that Farmir sees for him
and Boromir. Nicely written!

Pre-WOTR
DPrW4: E cared haniant tīn mīl by PuterPatty

I love Nickel Creek and the Hand Song, but loved this story by Puter
Patty even more. She can definitely write young ones, and her
characterization of young Legolas, Thranduil and his wife are
marvellous. Nothing is so sweet as a fathers memories of his child,
and Thranduil is portrayed as a doting and caring father. We feel his
sadness as he reads Legolas letter, also his pride in his son. A
beautiful story.

Pre-WOTR
DPrW5: Games of Innocence by Cirdan

Very unusual story with the twins play acting moments of history.
Cirdan writes the twins well, and the ending, with the boys playing
Elrond/Elros was shocking and intense.

Romance
DR6: In The Silence Of Our Hearts by Eresse

A lovely tale of romance between Glorfindel and Erestor, interrupted by
miscommunication and stubborn pride, and only resolved by the
persistence of Elronds children. As usual, Eresses care for detail
and wondrous characterization make this quite an enjoyable read.

Romance
DR10: The Paths of Lorien by CC

This story and Soledads Innocence were one of the first I read about
the elf, Lindir. Both made such an impression that Lindir has remained
one of my favourite elves. CC weaves a beautiful tale of romance
between Haldir and the minstrel, the marchwarden scarred from the
tragic death of an over zealous friend, and Lindir from the gruesome
deaths of his parents.

The story is one that cannot be put aside once started. The plot
builds as Haldir blatantly ignores the song of his soul mate, dooming
Lindir to suffer the grief and fading of a broken heart. It is almost
too late, when Haldir realizes his folly, but he does and the ending is
happy. This is a classic romance, a wonderful story, one of my all time
favourites.

D4: Into the West by Alexcat

A beautiful and poignant story based on the title song from the ROTK
movie. We see and feel Celeborns grief as he spends his last night
with Galadriel then watches her leave the shores of Middle-earth
forever. So sad, knowing that he will stay to see the ones they both
love fade and die. Keep the Kleenex by your side, as this one will make
you cry.

D5: Magpies and Rhymes by Acacea

A Lovely story of Faramir and his glimpse of magpies as they cry
outside the window, reminding him of a childhood rhyme that he and his
brother learned long ago. Interesting use of a Scottish folktale,
where the magpie is a symbol of foretelling, and how chilling, when a
single bird remains as he and Denethor hear the distant sound of
Boromirs horn.

D6: Motherless by Isabeau of Greenlea

The detail and characterization in the story is wonderful. Anyone who
has experienced the death of a loved one will recognize his or her self
in at least one of the characters, as they grieve for their fallen lady
mother/wife. The part I especially liked was the comparison of
Imrahils sons and nephews to black swans, also the way the boys
comfort their younger sister. The image of the shiny people place was
beautiful and so was the end, where Nimriens spirit gazes one last
time on those she loved.

D7: Quiet by Archet

Such a sad and moving story of Faramirs remembrances of his brother.
Archet asks the questions we all do when someone we love is taken from
us, the biggest one being why? I especially liked the two ending
lines, where Faramir states that he misses his brother. Very well
done.

D8: Standards by Dwimordene

Dwimordene has such a poetic, lyrical way with words. This story of
Arwens love for Aragorn and her uneasy relationship with Gilraen is
very moving. We see Arwens doubts, but also her strengths, as she
weaves the standard that will one day be her loves burial shroud. She
makes her choice to learn the ways of Aragorns people without
forgetting her heritage, despite the disapproval of those she loves.
Lovely story, I truly enjoyed it.

D9: Suffering Unending by Zam Kenobi

An unusual story, in thaht Faramir commits suicide and we see his
brothers pain and the pain of the people of Gondor over such a loss.
AU, most certainly, but nicely written.

D15: To Sing of War by Avon

A dark tale where Thranduil speaks of the horrors of the War of the
Last Alliance. I thought it beautifully written, and especially loved
the imagery of the trees as they whispered, Where are the others?
How could Thhranduil feel any less sorrowful and bitter as he returned
with so few from a battle that dod not accomplish all that it should.

D16: Unrequited: Gilraen by CinnamonGrrl

This was an unusual story with Gilraen falling for Lord Elrond shortly
after the death of her husband. I thought it well-written and could
feel the embarrassment and anguish of Gilraen as Elrond rejected her
advances. The characterization of Elrond was also excellent.

D17: Whispers by Ellbee

I truly enjoyed reading this story. Ellbee writes well the power and
seductiveness of the One Ring. But, I was extremely surprised by the
ending. All through the story I envisioned Boromir as the one tormented
by voices in his head. That it was Elessar, was shocking.
