I've read through the latest comments. Your feedback is really helping
me see how to make the site work better.
Author Liaisons have been assigned, and should be able to begin sending
emails to the (especially non-MEFA) authors soon.
I have created (not installed yet) a Member/Author List, for all users.
Please use this to search for authors to avoid duplicates. The search
form searches Nicknames and the first part of email addresses (before
the @).
Raksha, Nomination Incomplete is shown until the Author Liaisons get
your permission and confirmation that all the details are correct. When
you give that permission, and have checked the data, the Author Liaison
will check a box you can't see, and it will change to complete. You can
edit the story and make a note that you have checked the data and give
your permission at the bottom of the form, and send an email to your
liaison, once she lets you know who she is, telling her you approve,
and she can check your stories as complete. Once it's marked complete,
you won't be able to edit it, so check it carefully before approving
it.
Marta, I added (not installed yet) a line to the 'Review Saved' note
that comes up at the top of the overview page after you save a review
(story or author). The note tells you how many valid characters, and
what your score for that review are. If desired, I could have it send
the entire review. For me, clicking the 'back' button takes me back to
the form, and I can continue editing with no ill effects (Safari on
MacOS X Panther). YMMV.
Also, there have been comments about the Seasons. Alongside the 'Reload
Language File' link at the top, are some codes that identify which
seasons are active now.
Codes are:
Nom: Nomination
CB: Check Ballots
Vot: Voting
Rev: Reviewing
AuthRev: Author Reviewing
FAN: Fan Art Nomination
FAV: Fan Art Voting
Count: Counting
For the MEFA2005 site, Reviewing is when you may enter reviews for
stories. They aren't visible until Voting season starts AND they are
final.
Author Reviews can't be done until after Check Ballots season, because
they are linked to the award categories, and that isn't set until Check
Ballots is over.
