another question... Posted by silvermoonlady1 April 11, 2005 - 14:20:01 Topic ID# 3829
Uhmm, the site says that all members/users are in the potential author
pool already, but when I went looking for a certain person on the
author list to nominate a story of theirs, I did not find that
person's name; same name does exist when I search via the
members/users index though... What am I missing?

Thanks:)

Hmm.... you've stumped me. I have not run into this problem myself, and
I obviously don't have any clue what's going on.

I'm Ainae or Anthony will address this as soon as they can, though.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Oh, well thanks for thinking:)
It is rather odd... I just don't want to duplicate entries..

It's there on the form. If the author you want to nominate isn't in the
list, you need to create a new user for them.

It says: Author not in the list? Click Here!

Click there and create them. They need a nickname (penname), e-mail address,
Author checked, username (same as penname, though you might put
Authorpenname), and a random 7-number password.

Re: another question... Posted by John and Mel Knox April 12, 2005 - 4:27:00 Topic ID# 3829
Yup, I know that part:) In trying to be careful and not make duplicate
author entries (as requested) I checked the author list in the submit
screen; the surprise came when someone that I knew should be on that list
wasn't (I had seen her on this very group give greeting, so I *knew* she was
around)... so I checked the user list and did indeed find her there, but
still not on the submission author list. Hence my query:)

But Anthony seems to have solved the issue; that person shows up, at least
from this access point (am not at work at this moment). It may actually be
an issue with that particular access point, rather than the MEFA site. I'll
know in a day or two, when I return to work and double check again.

Thanks for your patience...

Okay, we just updated the list of Authors (looked like some deleted people
were on it). If you still have problems, let us know who you're looking
for. We'll try to see if we can find the problem.
