Two questions:

Stories by me that have been nominated still say Nomination Incomplete - is
there something I should be doing to make them complete? I thought that a
MEFA representative was going to contact me to ask official permission or
something...I'd already given permission to the kind ladies who nominated them.

And I'm very confused about doing author reviews as well as story reviews -
Where do we do author reviews, and are they necessary to the voting process?
I don't find it easy to do reviews for even stories I love, and the thought
of doing author reviews is rather daunting.

A staff member ("author liaison") should be contacting you. The author
needs to not just approve the nomination, they need to approve the
story details -- story length, categories and subcategories, and so on.
Someone should be contacting you soon.

Author reviews are completely separate from story reviews. You can vote
for as many stories as you like in any category, and you can also vote
for as many authors as you want. You can vote for an author's story
without being obligated to also write authors' comments, and you can
write author comments without also having to do story comments for all
those stories.

Basically, author comments are completely optional, as are story
comments. No one *has* to write either one. If author comments are
confusing you and you'd rather not bother with them, you can just stick
to story comments.

If you do decide to write them, they'll be done through the MEFA2005
site, the same one you use to nominate stories and to vote on stories.
You'll be able to enter them during reading season and voting season;
because of the way the authors comments are structured, you can't cast
an author comment until stories are assigned a category.

Depends who your Author Liaison is. They should mark your stories complete.

Ah, I don't know if there is a place on MEFA2005 for you to go ahead and
"vote early" on Author comments. But if you can't come up with any, don't
worry about it. No one *has* to vote on anything. It's all voluntary. You
don't have to leave comments for authors.
