Web site going down.... Posted by Ainaechoiriel April 21, 2005 - 18:13:48 Topic ID# 4000
We are getting severe weather here, including tornado sirens. It seems north
of me at the moment, but the last time I heard tornado sirens, several hit
the area. I saw two myself, with my own eyes. So, I'm going to shut all my
computers down in a few minutes (takes awhile to save my open files and I
need to look up a phone number).

So, if you try to get to the MEFA2005 site, or any other sites or pages on
gabrielle.sytes.net and you get a page not found, you'll know why.

I hope you're alright and that the tornadoes didn't harm anything down there. By the by...where is there? Don't worry about the site right now, just take care of yourself. -- Love -- Molly

Hey Molly,

I don't think Ainae will mind me mentioning this. ;-) She lives around
Chicago. I think it's not actually in the city, but very close.

Oh, then she's not that far away from us..well, four hours isn't too far. We're in Oshkosh WI. I'm very glad that my best Beloved is headed to the Twins instead of coming through Chi-town. I hope Ainae is alright. I dislike hearing about anyone getting hurt. -- Love -- Molly

Actually, I'm in KC, it's a good 8 hours (at least I think) from Chicago.

But all's well at my house. The worst of it went north of me, but there
were some funnel cloud sitings. Still, here we had hail and hard rain and
high winds.

Computers are all back up now (5 of them!). As for the site, I think it's
back up. I'm waiting on Anthony to help me make sure all the database stuff
is up and running that needs to be.

Thanks for the concern everyone!

Tornados WAS: RE: [MEFAwards] Web site going down.... Posted by Ainaechoiriel April 22, 2005 - 10:56:53 Topic ID# 4000
Fortunately, we do have sirens and a good warning system. On May 4, 2003,
several tornados swept through the area, doing billions of dollars worth of
damage, destroying houses and factories and blowing the roof off the
McDonalds. But only killing one person, and he wouldn't seek shelter at
that. After that day, I think the whole city takes those warnings a lot
more seriously now. And when the sirens go off, we listen.
