Actually, "Legacy" doesn't qualify as a drabble under the clarified
rules, being 300 words. It was completed before that discussion.
Anthony tells me the proper channel is for me to contact my liason to
have it changed, so I'll do that.

Hi Marta,

Looking at this list it suddenly occurred to me that my Hobbit
WIP "All's Fair" should be complete by early June--well before voting
season starts. What would happen in a case like that? Would it
become ineligible? Move to a completed stories category? If it
stayed where it is, would it still be eligible to run again next year
as a completed story? (If not, I might want to withdraw it this year.)

thanks,
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

I'm up late and am off to bed soon, so I hope this makes sense. If not,
I'll try again in the morning.

When (if) it is completed, it will be moved into the main category.
IIRC, "All's Fair" is in Hobbits/WIP right now. So if it's completed it
will run in Hobbits, with other completed hobbit-centric pieces.

If this happens, Hobbits/WIP will still be a category. Even if moving
your story means that there are only four stories in Hobbits/WIP.

> become ineligible?

Nope. It's eligible now (unless you *don't* want it to compete, of
course). If you complete it it will be moved to the main category; if
it's not completed it will stay in [X]/WIP (where [X] is the main
category :-P ).

> Move to a completed stories category?

Yes, that's what will happen if you finish it. I think it has to be
finished before the end of reading season, but I may be mis-remembering
here.

If it stays in incomplete, it can run next year as a completed story.
If it is moved to complete, that's it -- each story can only compete
once as a complete story.

HTH,

Thanks Marta, that all makes perfect sense.
