Hi Ya,

I am just curious as to why the total nominations here say 1166, and some of the nominations below have numbers up in the 1220's?

There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for awhile. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.

Hi Mari,

We have had a lot of stories withdrawn. seventy-two, to be exact (going
by Ainae's stats below). If a story is withdrawn, it's still in the
database; it just doesn't show up on the website. THat means that there
are seventy-two story ID numbers that are being used on withdrawn
stories and will never be used for new nominations.

So that's why there are 1166 nominations, but the highest number is
1166+72=1258 (if I did my math right).

Thanks Marta : )

So the difference between 1166 - 1031 = 135 means that there are 135 nominations that are incomplete and still pending?

Thanks again!

Mari

Exactly. These are stories where we haven't heard back from the author,
or the author has requested more time to decide whether to allow their
stories to compete. (It happens!)
