Hi,

I'm trying to nominate a story, and can't create an author entry for the
person. I have tried three different variations of her name (Sienna,
SiennaAuthor, and AuthorSienna) and I keep getting "The user name chosen by
you is already being used by another user. Please select another user name."

But none of these is in the author drop-down list.

Oh, crap. I just now tried the name "XYZ", and get the same error message.
(I hope I'm not accidentally creating dummy entries, even with the error
messages...)

Help, please!

Elena, I forwarded this message to the Staff list since I ran into the
same problem a while ago. It might be that Sienna is in the listing
with that e-mail adress, so I hope they will have a look at it asap.

Oh, it's the EMAIL address that has to be unique? *slaps forehead* well, of
course!

Okay, that explains it. I don't have her email address yet -- sent her a
message (yesterday... :( ) to ask for it, so I was using my own just to get
her set up temporarily (and I put a note to that effect).

Sorry for my late-night confusion, but that certainly explains it!

Hope she sees my message and replies today, she has a lovely (very)
post-Ring War WIP that would help round out that category nicely...

Elena, please be careful. If she is indeed already in the system and
it is a system 'glitch' as it occured with my author that I nominated,
you are creating a sock-puppet by accident. It all got sorted, so I
assume that this will be the case as well. :)

Thank you, Rhapsody. I had checked and found that she was not in the system
before trying to add her.

I did indeed find out her email address, successfully created an author for
her, and started to nominate her wonderful story, only to find out that: a)
it's NC-17, and b) NC-17's aren't allowed. Waaaaaahhhhhhhh!

And it's one of my favorite stories, too...

She was probably an author who had her only story withdrawn, removing her from the author list, but leaving her account still there. I've deleted her account as there is no way I can set her to Author again. That goes on automatically when someone nominates a story.

So try adding her again now.

I had gotten her email address and just added her a couple hours ago, but it
turns out the story I wanted to nominate is ineligible (NC-17). So, it's
good that you deleted her...
