Subject: Nomination Season is Over!

We will still be collecting Author permissions until the 4th set up
checkballots, so the number of Completed nominations may very well go up,
but MAN have we had quite a run! Thanks everyone for nominating so many
stories! No go and tell your friends to join up so we have more readers to
read all these stories! ;-)

Get reading, if you haven't started already. We have 3 months til Voting
Season. During Check Ballot Season, which starts today and runs to the end
of May, I will post 4 set sof Check Ballots. Basically these are ballots
that we check for mistakes. Iron out the wrinkles, so to speak. The first
will be posted after we've got all the categories and subcategories
assigned, which should be a lot easier done than last year!

I'll post the Completed nominations before I go to bed tonight.>>>

I'm a bit confused. I thought that we voted by leaving reviews, not by
ballot..Should I stop leaving reviews (I thought I'd get a head start...) until I
see these Check Ballots?

By the way, is there a place where important dates and deadlines pertinent
to the 2005 MEFA Awards are kept? I know they've been mentioned occasionally
in the digests in a timely fashion, such as this announcement of the end of
Nominations, but is there one central place where the entire sequence is
summarized? I haven't found any such information on the main MEFA site...

You can vote whenever but that's just a convenience. No vote is official
until Voting Season. As for check ballots, they are to check for errors. As
for ballots, they show which stories are in which categories and
subcategories officially and finally. They won't be used the same way they
were last year, but they will be good for informational purposes.

They're in the Rules: http://home.earthlink.net/~ainae/mefa/rules.html
about midway down. There's a schedule of the seasons.
