Re: A question about the Sons of Elrond Posted by Nienna May 28, 2005 - 21:12:31 Topic ID# 4448
Hi!
this is my first post to the group... (I'm a little bit of a wall
flower but I can never resist a question about ME history... it's a lot
like a dangling carrot... I have to bite *giggle*)

Actually Elrond's children ARE peredhil even though they are never
referred to by that name. In actuality Elrond himself is not true 'half
elven' His father Earendil had a mortal father and a elven mother but
his mother Elwing was only 1/4 mortal (Beren and Luthien were her
paternal grandparents) They are both referred to by the Valar as
Peredhil though. The question seems to be more one of heritage than
percentages.

Only the peredhil can make this choice between mortality... so if Arwen
can choose to be mortal she MUST be considered peredhil by default even
though she is never specifically called that. In any case both she and
the twins have the same percentage of mortal blood as their grandmother
Elwing.

Ok... now that I have that out of my system... *grin*

Elf huggles,

That's Raziel? I was expecting something more grand, less... fuzzy.
