I am a new member of this group. I have been a Tolkien fan for, well
let's just say more than 30 years and for the last two years at least,
I have been reading and commenting on all the fanfiction I can find.
My nic on TORn is FantasyFan, which is also the name I use for
reviewing stories. I don't write myself, but I salute all of you who
are such brilliant authors.
I learned about these awards from Marigold's site, joined this group,
read all the files and instructions, read all the May postings just to
get a feel for what is going on, and now I'm ready to read all the
stories and start reviewing. Am I correct in thinking I need to get
some kind of password to do this? This is the only thing I wasn't
clear on after reading the files (though I'm sure it won't be the last
thing I'm not clear on.)
I'm sorry if there is something obvious I should be doing that I'm not
seeing. So as to not take more board space, if there is a long
explanation it could be e-mailed to me at persimmontook [at] yahoo
[dot] com. Thanks for any help, and I'm eagerly looking forward to
participating any way I can.

There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for awhile. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.

On behalf of all the authors out there, may I just say: May the Valar
bless you and all reviewers. :-) Seriously, I think all readers who
review are great, and I appreciate your efforts. Of course we'd love to
have you vote for as many stories as you'd like to.

I'm sending you an email privately containing your username and
password. It's possibly someone else has already sent it to you, but
I'd rather be safe than sorry.
And if you have questions, please do ask them. I'll answer all that I
can, and if you'd rather ask me privately please do feel free to do so.
melayton at gmail dot com . These awards can be a little complicated,
just by their nature, but I'd like to make them as non-confusing as
possible.
