There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for awhile. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.

They both are drabble series, drabble series run with the True
Drabbles. Any other form of drabble (the double, tripple, 111-words
drabble) all run as ficlets and are placed in the main category, from
there on subcategories were created.

I had a look at these two when categorising and all drabbles in this
drabble series can be read seperate from each other.. so that is why
they ended up there.

If you have any questions, please ask :c)

Yes, series of true drabbles (100 words each drabble) still go in the

Yep, asking is good. Given that I'm behind on emails, Ainae may have
already answered this, but...

Single drabbles (exactly 100 words), and drabble series where each
piece is exactly 100 words, are put in the drabbles subcategory. All
other variations (111 words, 200 words, 300 words, etc.) are classified
as ficlets and are categorised with all the other stories. For the
purpose of this award they're not drabbles.

Just to be 100% clear: here is an example of a double drabble:

*****
"Night and Day"

"Master Gimli!"
I turned and saw the newly crowned king crossing the hall.
"Éomer King," I said, bowing so low my beard brushed the floor. "At
your service."
"Aye, as you always have been." But the king's expression was
deadly serious. I straightened myself and looked at him questioningly.
"I must beg your service once more. Have you your axe?"
"Nay. Should I send for it?"
Éomer sighed, but I caught the glint in his eye. "Perhaps. Harsh
words still separate us." He spoke of the lady Galadriel: first of my
lady's perilous beauty, then the wisdom of her eyes and her resplendent
hair, more precious to me than mithril.
"And if I had but met her in different company, I would feel as you
do, I am sure."
His eyes trailed to the queen Arwen, and my blood boiled. Aye, the
queen was lovely, but she was no match for my lady.
"Should I send for my sword?"
Would these fair ladies bring us to blows, then? I mastered the
legendary temper of my kind, and saw beyond his words: the love we
bestowed was not so different.
"Nay. You chose the Evening; my love belongs to the Morning."
*****

Notice that it's all one piece, but it's exactly 200 words. So for the
purpose of the MEFAs, it's not a drabble.

A drabble pair, on the other hand, would be two drabbles that each
stand alone. An example of this would by Cheryl's piece "The Steward
and the Brother", which has two AU drabbles: the first has Boromir
pledging fealty to Aragorn, and the second has Faramir watching Boromir
pledge fealty. Each of those is exactly 100 words.

I'm not familiar with those pieces, but if each part is 100 words, it
should probably stay in the drabble subcategory.

Change the reason for rating to n/a? And delete the sentence of the
summary beginning "Rated PG"? That's confusing, given the rating for
the story is G?

I apologize for not noticing that the rating on that was still listed as G
when I approved it. The rating *is* PG on the site where it is archived. I
am not sure how it came to be G on the nomination.

I guess I just saw my PG still there in the summary, and did not see that it
was different above.

So the reason for rating should read: For graphic depiction of alchohol
abuse and you could move that off the summary.

I did not notice this the first time through on the check ballot post
either.

I remember that it was suggested to place it there, but as
categoriser I decided against it.

This is what I had:
Races/Places: Hobbits: Merry & Pippin (nine stories, eight authors)

The Hands that Heal -- Jeodo Brandybuck
Butterfly -- Melilot Hill
Whispers In The Night -- pippinfan88
Believe Me -- pearltook1
Cradling -- Nickey
Realisation -- Ginger Hobbit
A Birthday Party -- Marigold
The Best Laid Plans -- pearltook1
When it Rains -- Hai Took

I categorised your tale with: Races/Places: Hobbits: Pre War of the
Ring, so I have no clue what happened here.
