with another drabble to make the category viable, there are several of
mine in "Books/Time: Post-Ring War: General Drabble" and "Books/Time:

this story. I've moved it back to LOTR/Drabble. ( See below. Gap-Filler is
a graduated category and therefore wasn’t available for the top 3 choices of
an author).

choices. This is important, folks. This is why we asked authors to approve
all the details and not just the fact that a story was nominated. The
choices here were The Silmarillion, Men and then Drama. I'm gonna hafta put
my foot down on this one. Otherwise, every author could say "Wait, I'd
rather my stoy be in this category!" and then we'd have to do the whole
categorization over again.
So, sorry, but this one will stay. Fixing mistakes in categorizing is one
thing, but changing choices this late in the game is another. The only
exceptions to that are two of Werecat's poems which aren't viable in any of
the 3 choices. Since they must be in a viable subcategory, I've put them in
LOTR/Poetry. If we hear from her before the 4th Check Ballot, she can
choose which viable category to put them in. Keep this in mind for next
year. Really think before you approve of your nominations. And I'm saying
this to everyone, Tanaqui, not just you.

are more fluid. Authors give or approve of suggestions only. Also, Gondor
being a graduated category, Authors couldn't have put it in their 3 choices
before Check ballot season, which is too late. That's why we might change
those.

Hi Ainae
Thanks for the changes you've made and your very clear and reasonable
explanations of why things have or haven't been changed.
I'm sure that all of us, having now seen the new combination of
nomination and categorisation process this year, now understand much
more clearly how it works and what kinds of things we should put in
the "subcategories" field - and that we will therefore be able to make
the categorisers' jobs a lot easier next year.
Cheers, Liz

This is my first time at the MEFAs and I'm really impressed at the hard work and dedication you people put in here. My most heart-felt congratulations to everybody involved (my mind refuses to imagine the amount of work that went into sorting out the different categories)
