Character Counts? Posted by merrygoldgamgee June 11, 2005 - 20:25:29 Topic ID# 4870
I copied this from the Rules so that I could be sure that any helpful
criticism I might have for a story didn't move the score into a
higher level. It's worked great so far - I have only done it twice,
and the score both times was under 6. But if you'll notice, there is
a problem once you get to 7. 7 is 651 to 800 and 8 is 701 to 950.
What should the number of characters be for those?

"points | characters

1 1-100
2 101-200
3 201-300
4 301-400
5 401-500
6 501-650
7 651-800
8 701-950
9 951-1100
10 1101+"

Thanks!

Mari

Hi Mari,

I'm not 100% sure, but I *think* 8 should be 801-950. That makes sense,
given that the two previous categories also had 150 points eacy.

There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for awhile. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.

Oops. I'll have to fix that on the mefa site. Anthony, you out there to fix
it on the MEFA2005 site?

Never mind. I see that Anthony has already addressed it. And the mefa site
