categories, subcategories and awards Posted by picara\_embustera June 28, 2005 - 12:06:48 Topic ID# 4916
It doesn't matter, but I was curious: do awards go to the top three
stories in a category or the top three stories in a subcategory? In
other words, will there be a winner in, for example, Gap Filler (over
all) or will there be winners in Gap Filler, Gap Filler/Drabble, Gap
Filler/Drama etc. I wasn't involved last year, so I'm still learning
how everything goes. But I'm enjoying the voting...so many good
stories here.

There will be a winner in each subcategory. There will also be a winner
for those stories entered in each category but not put into a further
subcategory. Maybe an example will clarify.

In "The Hobbit" there are two subcategories: The Hobbit/Drabble and The
Hobbit/Vignette. So there will be a first, second, and third prize for
the stories that acquire the most points in those subcategory. There
will also be a first, second, and third for the seven or so stories
entered in "The Hobbit" that weren't categorised in either /Drabble or
/Vignette. So the story that wins 1st Prize in "The Hobbit/(no
subcategory)", which is often just written as "The Hobbit", will be the
one that gets the most points out of those seven or so stories. Not the
best out of all the stories in all the subcategories.

I hope that's clearer.
