The Healer's Choice (Story details)
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1981923/1/
(Story: Short Story) Rating: PG-13
Award Category:Books/Time: Post-Ring War
Story Summary: Legolas was hurt in battle, but when Aragorn tries to heal
him, Legolas won't let him. What then is the healer's choice? Will he take
control and heal his friend, or will he let Legolas have his way?

No 1.: This is not a short story. There's no way anyone can convince me
that a 13+ chapter story is a short story. Even leaving this at an author's
discretion....it was about word count. We can quibble until the cows come
home about whether 25000 or 30000 words make a short story. We generally
will not quibble about anyting over 2 chapters being one.

If you guys ever want me to reconsider length as a categorization point,
things like this have to stop happening. First there was the 21 chapter
short story which I rolled my eyes at. Then there's this. This is a story
on my infamous spreadsheet. I've been following it's progress. It's not
short! And....

No. 2.: It's not even complete!

This should be in an Incomplete category. It should say "Incomplete" in the
summary information. An Author Liaisson should probably have caught this. I
will be changing this story's information and it's category.

And somehow this author ended up with 2 accounts. 1 was a nominator and
MEFA member. The other was an Author. I will be asking Anthony to help me
consolidate this one. At present, I have moved MEFA membership to the
Author account. Only Nominator and any reviews need to be moved from the
other and then it can be deleted.

*sigh* This is getting out of hand isn't it?
Methinks we do need to do something about it!
Perhaps next year we can have the drop down menu
for story types include word count? Or perhaps
have a slightly different system - albeit more
complicated one - that is say perhaps:

Drabble
Poem
Non-Fiction
Story *opens up to a field where the word count
can be inserted and it is automatically
determined what sort of story it is*

Or something like that where it isn't left up to
nominator discretion. Or else all the liasons
have to be 110% times more vigiliant and check
every story! :-P But I don't see that happening
any time soon given RL time constraints that we
all suffer!

Resha, who really should be getting some sleep.
