Lin,
Anything is possible, but not everything *will* be done.
As far as this goes, I don't know what information you all want. I
COULD give running updates of current number of reviews, and even
current points for stories, but I'm not sure how that would affect
things. Would people be more likely to write reviews for the stories
they like if they can see that they're behind?
I can see ways that having running totals could make things better.
It's kind of like the pennant race in baseball, where you check the
scores every day and see whether your team won or lost, and root for
your team. It might make it more exciting, or people might just ignore
it.
If I were going to do that, it might be good to count the points for
tentative reviews, even though the reviews aren't visible yet, so you
could see what's in the pipeline and not get surprised.
There hasn't been any indication of what the group (or Ainae, for that
matter) wants. Last year, anybody that wanted COULD have counted up the
votes during voting season, and had an idea of how well the stories
they liked were doing, but it was a lot of work, and I'm sure nobody
bothered. Last year, all of the information was in the open. This year,
some of it is hidden, but it doesn't have to be, especially for final
reviews.
I hesitate to mention this, because like I said yesterday, I still have
quite a bit of work to do on things that are necessary, before I could
even think about adding sums and filters/sorting.
I'll sit back and listen, and if you all decide you want to have
running totals, I'll see what I can do. If you want them, I probably
won't get them done until a week or two after voting starts, though.
Also, if you want them, I'll need to have a very clear idea of what to
show, and what to hide.
Later,
Anthony

I don't mind a list of stories with 0-2 reviews only. Anything else, keep it
blind. I'd like a daily post of reviews though. People can count them
themselves if they want to keep a running total. I did that once during the
ASC Awards. I won, btw. Ah, those were the good ol' days, when I actually
wrote....
Anyway, I don't want to see a running list of total points per stories. Nor
a list of how many reviews each story has. Just a list of stories with 2 or
fewer reviews if we can manage something like that. If not, just a list of
stories with no reviews. Some intrepid reviewers out there may pick them up
and see if they can review them. Note, no one needs to write any reviews if
they can't think of something good to say about a story.
