Hey guys,
I noticed a lot of people have asked when certain seasons start this year. Therefore, I've
added a file for easy reference.
1. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MEFAwards/
2. Click the "files" link on the left side of the page.
3. Click the "2005 Schedule" link.
The basic dates are available as part of the rules at http://home.earthlink.net/~ainae/
mefa/rules.html , and are entered into the calendar at the Yahoo group. But this may be a
simpler-to-use format.
I've also added some notes explaining what you can do during each season. For your
convenience I'll include it at the bottom of this post.
I hope this helps clear up some confusion. Just to be clear, we're in reading season. And
voting season just around the corner! Where does the time go? ;-)

A. Nomination Season: April 1st through May 15th
(Nominate new pieces to compete in this year's awards. No new nominations accepted
after May 15. Members may cast votes for nominations as they are submitted, but
remember, if the nomination is not finalised it may not actually run in the awards.)
B. Check Ballot Season: May 16th through May 31st
(An administrative season during which staff categorise all nominations into categories
and subcategories. All stories in the voting website are finalised nominations and will run
in this year's MEFAs.)
C. Reading Season: June 1st through August 15th
(Ten weeks for reading all these lovely stories. Members may enter both story and author
votes, but no votes are visible to other members.)
D. Voting Season: August 16th through September 30th
(Finish entering your votes. Final reviews are visible to other members during this season
and cannot be changed after August 16. You may change tentative votes until the end of
the voting season, at the end of which they will be displayed and counted. Draft reviews
must be changed to final or tentative status by the end of this season to count. Also, make
sure to hae all your submissions for the banner contest to Ainae by the end of this
season.)
E. FanArt Season: October 1st through October 15th
(Vote through the Yahoo site to determine which banner will be used for each award.)
F. Awards Results: Announced by October 15th
(Watch the Yahoo group for final results of who won the categories.)

OK, I am confused now (and a bit late with catching up). Until what
date can you write your reviews. The way I read it now, until the end
at the end of reading season. Maybe it is the word votes, in which you
actually mean reviews..
With voting you mean actually: write a review, that is your vote... or
not? I've seen the words and links tentative reviews on the site, but
not the option tentative votes...
Just forgive my muddled brain, but if I can still write my reviews
until the end of September, then I can take it a bit more easy.

At the end of reading season, any reviews you have already entered with
the status "final" are set in stone. You can't change those at this
point, and they become visible to everyone.
But you can still change reviews that are tentative or draft, and you
can still enter new reviews. You can even give them the status final
(but if you do that they become set in stone immediately, and you can't
change them later).
And don't forget if you want your draft reviews to be counted, you have
to change them to tentative or final status by the end of voting
season.
I hope that's clearer. How can I make it clearer in the file?
