Nice use of that particular line! It seems that Faramir, unlike Pippin,
doesn't have qualms about the fittingness of his songs for hard times, when
once he's convinced his men really want him to sing for them.

It's almost uncomfortable to see Celeborn at such a loss, I'm so used to
thinking of him as confident and...powerful. And here, you can almost taste
his anxiety, and the longing for 'home'. Then, once he arrives, it must have
been deeply unsettling for Celeborn to realize that yes, the last time he
saw most of these people, his family...they were dying, or dead...*yikes*
I'd want to go home too!
During the middle of the story, I had to wonder if the elves really ever
learned! I know, the old hurts and things still surfaced, but getting second
chances should cause them to be more thoughtful about renewing those old
conflicts. Though maybe, because death wasn't permanent, and they were
immortal, they didn't think they needed to learn.
I liked the closure they all started to achieve at the end, and maybe they
were finally learning. This was another of your stories that re-confirmed my
own love of Celeborn, and got me hooked on Thingol too.

anger with Eilian is because he's so much like his mother.
Now...as far as Solith and Anyr are concerned...Well, Solith needs a big

I think Thranduil really should have cut Eilian some slack for getting

I love love love your original characters and your stories. I am terrible
because I rarely leave you reviews, but please know that I read all of your
stories, I never even think twice about it. I know it will be engaging and
keep me interested throughout, and it won't be so complicated that I have to
re-read past chapters in order to keep up.
And you write about such simple, wonderful things. You remind me of one of
my favorite writers...Louisa May Alcott. Strong characters and a good strong
story.
This one caught me off guard as I re-read it. I'd forgotten about the one
elf getting killed during the fire. *sniffle* (I'm not naming names so I

And Poor Sinnarn! I wondered about that when I read the Hobbit--just how
much trouble the elven guards were in for letting the dwarves escape.
I wonder if Saruman was turning bad at this point already. He certainly
seemed like it.
Now then, after the battle. I know warriors have to die, but two of them

know Nithron died doing what he was supposed to do, but that would be a

you a good bit on drum-making as the poor narrator flees unwitting towards
