I generally try to avoid movie-verse and stick to authors who are
book-verse, but this vignette is an interesting look into Haldir's decision
to go to Helm's Deep despite the foresight that he would die there. And
keeping in character, Celeborn's acceptance of Haldir's decision.
Quirky (Sophia) writes in a classically literary style that has been lost
with the MTV generation and it's lovely to read another story with layers. A
wonderful effort.

This is an interesting Work-in-Progress about what might have happened had
Galadriel taken the ring, and Celeborn's efforts to stop her.
Quirky (Sophia) again has tried to keep all her characters 'in-character'
even while taking Galadriel off in a whole different route as she controls
the ring -- or is the ring in control of her?
While slightly passive in style, the emotion and detail helps make it an
interesting story to watch unfold and Quirky writes it in a way that you
could imagine it happening and find yourself wondering ... "what might have
happened if Galadriel had taken the ring?" It certainly was on Galadriel's
mind, and was a definite possibility. I'm interested to see its conclusion.

Bodkin manages to write so much detail, so much emotion using so few words
that she amazes me. I have much to learn from her style, and this story is
one example that I should print out and read often. The idea of Pippin's
return from his mother's point of view, allows Bodkin to get into the depth
and emotion she needs to display the differences betwen the 'before-the-war'
Pippin to the mature, slightly haunted 'after-the-war' Pippin.
A wonderfully haunting story.

A beautiful short story that features OC hobbits only. The author remains
authentic to the hobbit canon, even without the use of canon hobbits like
Merry and Pippin. The storytelling is light, with a pinch of angst in it,
but it makes a delightful read. This is the author's first fanfic and I
think her grasp of the language and storytelling is quite good.

is well written, it shows that the author too great effort in background

What a fantastic story! While reading this, I was immensely surprised by the
many layers the author writes to weave an enormous epic tale. More then once
I find myself thinking, wait a minute; I browse back and see the little
suggestions the author left there. Those little gems she leaves, makes a
second, or a third reading absolutely worthwhile. A story with suspense,
romance, angst..., and above all: rangers. What I find really good about
this story is that it contains strongly written original characters, while
maintaining a good writing style. The author takes her time establishing her
characters and surroundings, adding a character trait or a piece of
development as she goes along. She paints a very lively picture of a Ranger
who tries to serve his chieftain during the War of Ring, putting his life
and heart on the line and in the meantime, keeping your eyes glued to the
monitor, or paper, maintaining the suspense in the story. Leaward knows what
she is writing about, for me, Eriador, and her inhabitants come to live for
me through her writing. The twist (or shall I say twists), which I did not
saw coming, is fantastically written and makes you want to read more stories
written by this author.

original characters will ever fully heal. Leaward shows her amazing writing

Rhapsody has taken us into a world that is seldom ventured into -- Numenor
just before its fall. Sauron's manipulations and the Elendili is such a
wealth of intrigue and the author has delved into it feet first by exploring
'how' a seed from Nimloth was saved despite the decree to destroy the link
to the Trees of Valinor.
She has developed a world rich with detail and taken Tolkien characters and
infused them with their unique personalities true to canon. An inspiring
story true to the spirit of the Lord of the Rings fanfic world.

Instruments is a wonderful look into the dark times of Hobbiton once the
quest has begun and the hobbits are left to their own devices. It begins
peacefully enough but then the author introduces the grim changes and the
characters you have learned to care for, worry about, are threatened. It is
nice to see a hobbit story that is not all sweetness and light yet still
shows the 'grit' of the characters that hobbits obviously have. Beethoven's
7th has a flair for story telling and should continue to write and hone her
craft -- she has talent.
Being a fan of rangers, her Tharon ranger inspired me and reminded me that
not all about Rangers is dark and mysterious but they also have their light
times and I brought some of that into my own stories. I'm interested to see
where this goes, and I hope the writer updates soon!

I'm interested to see its conclusion.

that she amazes me.
A wonderfully haunting story.

many layers the author writes to weave an enormous epic tale.

This is a hell of a gap filler; those were my initial thoughts when I
finished reading this story. I feel like this story could use more chapters,
but I have that with every story written by this author. She has such a
compelling manner of writing; you just want to read more. This story is an
actual sequel to Promises to keep, but the author writes it in such way that
you can go easily without it.
The story has a linear feel, the events about the war of the ring seen
through a Dunedain ranger who looks back on the events through chilling
flashbacks. But not only the flashbacks tell the story: the severe
consequences of this story is told as well, making you wonder if the
original characters will ever fully heal. Leaward shows her amazing writing
skills with this tale. I simply marvel at the way she is telling the story
that keeps me glued to the screen from the beginning to the end.

Interesting perspective. I'd not thought how Cirdan might view his own
connection with the naval supremacy of the later Númenoreans.
