changing status of stories from complete to incomplete Posted by Marta Layton August 18, 2005 - 15:51:45 Topic ID# 5175
My feeling is that if we switch a story from incomplete to complete at
any time, the people who have already reviewed it need to have an
option to change their reviews if they decide to. If the switch takes
place during reading season, it's not an issue. The problem comes in
when we switch during voting season. Final reviews can't be changed at
that point.

I like the suggestion (by sulriel, maybe?) of changing final votes to
tentative before changing the story's status from incomplete to
complete. But I'm not sure how much work this would take, or even if
it's technically feasible.

For everyone's information, I'm including the email I sent to Lea on
this topic.

Thanks, Marta, I hadn't wanted to post your email without your
permission...

If the votes can be switched back to tentative that's fine, as long as
the reviewer realizes that's happened and can rewrite them.
Personally I've lost track of who I've reviewed and if I think I've
set them all to final, I'm unlikely to go back and look for tentatives
and they might never get changed and automatically switch to final at
the end of the voting season anyway.

It does become quite a nightmare ...
