Just thought I'd let you know I got a fatal error. Gee, sounds serious. I was
looking at the stories with fewer reviews and clicked on the review number
for "The Swan Feather" to read the review left there, and came up with Fatal
error: Call to a member function on a non-object in c:\Program Files\Apache
Group\Apache\mefa\MEFA2005\lib\CTReview.ctcls on line 463

Anthony, I'm sorry if all I seem to be doing is pointing up errors. If I
wrote to you every time the database performed in a satisfactory manner, or proved
elegantly user-friendly, I'd be flooding the email list with hundreds of
messages.

Thanks again for all your efforts.

Lin

Hm. I tried clicking on a story ID number to see what reviews had been
left. I also got a fatal erro message, but I could see the reviews,
and if I'd not known about this message, I might've overlooked the
error message completely. Everything else on the screen was completely
normal.

Perhaps this is like the AOL fatal error in recipient e-mail address,
yet the message goes through anyway?

Trying to be more precise on that error. When I go to "Read Reviews"
and specify an Author, I often (but not always) get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in c:\Program
Files\Apache Group\Apache\mefa\MEFA2005\lib\CTReview.ctcls on line 463

The only exception (and I'm not saying I've tried every single
author--far from it!) that I've come across is my own page of reviews.
However, since I've been keeping track of particular authors' review
pages, whose stories I've really enjoyed, it doesn't seem as if this
error is affecting either the review count or the display of said reviews.

Lin, is this what you're talking about, too?

I got the same error message when I looked at the reviews for that story.
But everything seemed to be working fine, so I just ignored it.

It looks like the same error, though I got it by going through a different
door. I'm pretty sure I was looking at the list of stories ("Browse stories")
and clicked on the number of reviews next to one, to look at a review, to get a
little more info about the story (the summary simply said something about a
wedding night, but not *whose* wedding night).

That's when I got the error message. But yes, I did see the review as well as
the error message. I was interrupted at that point, and didn't see what
happened next (i.e. if it was a fatal error that kicked me out of the database or
whatever--I actually had to sign off and didn't explore any further).

Thanks,
Lin
