Hey all,
The updates from the past week have been properly installed now, so all
of the error messages should go away (except some on review pages that
have only one page of reviews on them). That error message says:"Fatal
error: Call to a member function on a non-object in c:\Program
Files\Apache Group\Apache\mefa\MEFA2005\lib\CTReview.ctcls on line
463", and all it does is keeps the 'mark' link from working on that
page. Ainae has a fix for it, and it will go away sometime soon.
If you see any other error messages, please copy/paste them and send me
an email.
Also in this update:
C Dodd noticed that the '2 or fewer reviews' filter on the story list
wasn't showing zero! <oops!>
I tried to get a true filter to work but couldn't figure out how to ask
the database the right question, so I hacked it to just skip the ones
with more than 2 reviews. Therefore, when you select that option, you
will see fewer stories on a page than you expect, because some stories
just don't show. On the plus side, you won't have to worry about
withdrawn stories any more.
Hopefully, there will be some pages with no stories on them because all
the stories have 3 or more reviews. If so, just go on to the next page,
or tell it to show more per page.
In fact, you might start with 100 per page, just to be safe. Switching
number per page when you're not on page 1 will probably make you miss
some stories.
The 'read reviews by reviewer' pages should be nice. They show you (by
default) all your reviews, including draft and tentative, and will have
links to edit the reviews that are editable. You can switch to a
different reviewer if you like. You can't mark on those pages, as the
marks are by story or author/category/required, depending on what
you're reading, and not by reviewer, and marking would mess it all up.
BTW, as you've probably heard, a couple of reviews got entered with
quotes that were too long. The admins will edit those reviews, and add
<blockquote> </blockquote> around the "offending" material, after the
first couple of lines. This edit will cause the stuff between the
<blockquote></blockquote> pair to not be counted in determining the
score, but it will still be part of the review. It will also be clear
why the review doesn't add up to the "correct" score.
The <blockquote> is not a true HTML blockquote, because the system
'encodes' the reviews, so you'll actually be able to see the tags in
reviews. Also, admin edits do not change the 'datefinal,' so these
edited reviews will not have their 'mark' status reset, and you won't
see them again if you've already read them.
Hypothetically, <blockquote> </blockquote> could be used by non-admins
to include longer quotes in a review, but not pad the review score by
doing so. Such a hypothetical non-admin would need to consider that
people will probably think that the admins had to go back and edit his
hypothetical review, however. <grin>
