Voting Closes at Midnight, and what this means Posted by Anthony Holder October 02, 2005 - 9:21:48 Topic ID# 5559
As you all know by now, voting ends at midnight tonight.

The server is set to automatically close voting when it gets to
midnight, CST.

At the bottom of every page, there is a note of what time the server
thinks it is when the page was served. If you're worried about getting
close to midnight, be sure to check that time right after you load a
page, and then look at your clock, to get an offset.

Even if the server is wrong, its time is still the official time, and
it's there for all to see on every page.

What this means is that if you start a review before midnight and click
'save' after midnight, your vote will NOT count.

There are no second chances for this, so please pay attention if you're
voting near midnight CST.

Also, at midnight, all the tentative reviews will appear in the 'read
reviews' pages.

The dates for all the tentative reviews will show up as '2005-10-03
00:00:00', but the marking code can still keep track of which ones
you've read, because internally, they all have individual dates.

Happy reviewing.

Anthony
