Marta, when I went to <_http://gabrielle.sytes.net/mefa/awardbanners.html>_
(http://gabrielle.sytes.net/mefa/awardbanners.html>) and then opened up the
Humor banners category, there was no way to open up another window. Is my
computer missing something, or is it me?

I've voted for a few of the banner categories already, but each choice took
me too long and involved a series of window-openings and copy/pasting URLs to
find and choose and vote, so I decided not to continue. Now I've tried it
again, per your directions and am feeling like the slow child here.

Raksha, what I did was open the banner page from the link on the e-mail - http://gabrielle.sytes.net/mefa/awardbanners.html

Then when that had opened I minimized it and went back to the e-mail and clicked on the link for the Yahoo group polls - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mefawards/polls/

So that way I had both windows open and just went back and forth between them. I hope that makes sense, I am rather computer challenged and don't explain these things very well!

There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty forever beyond its reach.

Most browsers have an option to open a new window. For example, in
Mozilla under "file" the first two options are "open a new window" and
"open a new tab". You can often do this by using control-N in Windows
or Apple-T on a Mac.

If you can't do this, another way would be to go through the first site
(the gabrielle.sytes.net one) and write down on a sheet of scratch
paper which banner you like most and then going to the polls at the
Yahoo group. In the poll the number at the end of the URL translates to
the banner number. For example,

http://gabrielle.sytes.net/mefa/AwardBanners/Faithful1.jpg

is Banner #1 for "The Faithful of Númenor" award.

If it's easier for you, you're welcome to "vote" by sneding an email to
this group. Make a list of what award you like. Something like

"Men"

Faithful of Numenor - #2
Kings of Gondor and Arnor - #1
Stewards of Gondor - #3

And so on. I'll keep a tally and take them into account when the poll
results are announced.

I would rather keep this method of voting to a minimum (because it's
something I have to keep up with), but if people are having a hard time
voting I can handle a few people.
