Banner? Posted by Talullah October 16, 2005 - 14:45:04 Topic ID# 5733
Hi :)

This will probably be a silly question but I can't figure it out by myself.

According to that list I won the The Sam and Frodo Award, in the Romance
category, Rivendell subcatgory. I went to the banner section of the site and
searched under Romance - but there was the Sam and Rosie banners... I tried
other sections such as Elves and LotR but I could not find banners with that
specific title, so I was wondering if the banner was already posted or if
the name of the prize changed.

Thank you

Talullah

I think it was called the Sam and Rosie Award, when I went voting anyway.
The other title is probably a "Frodian" slip.
*because resistance really IS useless!*

Hi Talullah,

First, congrats on your victory! And thanks for participating.

Now, on to the banners... apparently my repressed slash muse forced its
way to the surface on that one. ;-) As Rabidsamfan pointed out, the
correct award title is Sam & _Rosie_. Sorry about that.

What you see at the website are all the banners that were designed for
that place. We had a poll to see which one we'll actually use and
decided on #3. However, someone still needs to add bars to the awards
saying what subcategory the story won. For example, third place in the
"Drabble" subcategory of the "Romance" category would display a banner
with a bar reading "Drabble" at the bottom.

I'll email all the winners from mefasupport@gmail.com when the banners
are ready for your use.

Marta

My repressed slash muse is becoming increasingly unrepressed. Since you
pointed out my Frodian slip I've been chatting with Tanaqui in YIM
about Denethor/Thorongil slash. Good times, speculating about the
acceptability of homosexuality among the Northern Dunedain compared to
Gondor. An idea hasn't bitten yet, but we'll see.

*glares at Dwim - you've been donating blood to the nuzgul again,
haven't you?*

Btw, I am not anti-slash. I typially write het because of the type of
stories I write. If you're writing men it's very hard to write slash
without introducing an OC or writing incest.

Cheers,
Marta

*grins* And I'm not anti-het, I just never had the momentum to post the het
fic I wrote *runs in shame*

Sounds like an excellent plot bunny. ;)
