Hey guys,

Several author liaisons and authors have reported that the emails
telling them their stories have been nominated are getting caught in
their spam filter. If you think it's possible that you will be
nominated for the MEFAs please double-check your email's spam folder
before you delete it. By default, all these emails will have the
subject line "2006 Middle-earth Fanfiction Awards" (though some
liaisons may personalize this.)

I'm including a list of authors who had their first story nominated on
Friday or before, and who have not replied to those emails. Many of
them may have genuine reasons for not having responded, but if you are
this author or know how to reach them, you may want to check that
they have received their nomination emails. I realize it's still
pretty early in the nomination process, so please don't see this as a
criticism of your speed in handling this - more a pre-emptive measure
to make sure everyone is receiving these emails.

If you'd ever like to see whether your stories have been nominated you
can do this by logging in to http://www.mefawards.net/MEFA2006/ (if
you aren't a member click "login as guest"). Then click on "Browse
Nominated Stories", and then click the column header "Author". This
will sort the list of nominated stories alphabetically by the author
name. Find your name on the list and this will tell you what stories
by you have been nominated.

If you have a nominated story for which you have not received an
email, or if you have any questions or concerns, please do not
hesitate to post here or email me at mefasupport at gmail.com .

Hi Marta,

I'm on the list but I haven't received any nomination mails... I'm quite
sure there weren't any in my not sure not sure though whether I checked my
last lot of spam before deleting.

I haven't received any emails as an author liaison also:o

As a liaison, you are handling your own nominations (you will send your
own nomination e-mail to yourself)... So it might be that your ISP is
proactively deleting spam before you even see it.

Hello, here I am. I don't check my old Yahoo account very often so I
hadn't seen the email. I will fill out the nomination form thingy this
weekend.

I don't know hossgal personally, but IIRC her LiveJournal account is
under the name "leadensky" -- that may be an easier way to reach her.

Would you like me to change the email the MEFAs use to contact you to this
gmail one (thenorthland@gmail.com)?

Since sending out this email we've talked with her and finished her
nomination. I'm adding a note to her account about the LJ id, though - if we
need to reach her again it might be helpful. Thanks!
