I think the idea there was that these were stories that happened after
the events of the Silmarillion (or at least the Quenta Silm.), in the
waning years of the elves. As far as I can see the breakdown by age

I am no expert when it comes to the Silm - would Finarfin's return to
Valinor be the tail end of the First Age or the very beginning of the
Second? If it's the tail end of the First Age, we could consider
moving that one to First Age Elves. Would that make the category make
more sense to you?
